SAINT PAUL, MN — The local R&B and soul scene is gaining a distinct new voice in MeechXL. Known for smooth vocals and late-night feels, this Saint Paul-based artist crafts lovesick songs that operate in the space between Bryson Tiller's hush and Daniel Caesar's warmth. The music blends melodic hip-hop with intimate production, drawing from a diverse range of influences including Frank Ocean, SZA, Tory Lanez, Amy Winehouse, and Childish Gambino.

Intimate Soundscapes

MeechXL established a strong foundation in 2025 with the release of the album If it all went dark. This full-length project was accompanied by singles such as I Hear Money and Smoke in the Morning, showcasing an artist who is both prolific and focused on independent growth.

A Prolific 2026 Schedule

The momentum has continued into 2026 with a rapid series of single releases. These new tracks include Sometime, My Number One, and Romeo & Juliet (Lay me down). Each release further explores the artist's signature R&B and soul aesthetic.

Rounding out the recent catalog are titles such as Thinking about them Nights, Love never fails, and Hennessy Conversations. As an independent creator who is just getting started, MeechXL continues to build a body of work defined by melodic depth and atmospheric textures.
